Client: Steno Diabetes Centre Aalborg
Product: 400 sqm. interactive installations
Purpose: Dissemination about diabetes
No Parking has designed and produced four interactive installations that communicate about diabetes and help diabetics choose the right diet. We have also created a play area for the little ones, where the diabetes center’s mascot “Sten-O” is included as a fun play figure, and a drawing installation.

A timeline with small built-in films, doors that open to reveal information, and display cases with original objects tell the story of diabetes and the development of insulin. Here you can also learn how the pancreas works and how insulin treatment has been refined over time. Under a staircase we have created a listening station where you can listen to excerpts of podcasts on large headphones. The installation “my meal” lifts the lid through a game of how many calories are in different dishes, and there is also an installation where you can explore recipes and take them home.

A play area in the pediatrician’s waiting room features a flipping game and a fun figure of the mascot Sten-O that can be decorated with magnetic elements. There is also a drawing application where you can color a drawing and scan it in so that it appears on the “playground.”
